Ralphie May

Sat, 01/16/10 - 9:30 PM
Venue: Performing Arts Center

Event Description

Ralphie May is one of the most popular comedians in the country.  Since his debut on season one of “Last Comic Standing,” audiences can’t get enough of the larger than life comedian.  He recently filmed a new DVD and 90-minute special for Comedy Central in his home state of Texas to a sold-out crowd.  Recorded live at the Paramount Theater, the new release titled “Austin-Tatious” is the first recording since the birth of his daughter, April June May.  This marks his fourth recording in just a few short years, which has raised attention among Hollywood industry execs and led to Variety naming him one of “10 Comics to Watch” in 2008.

Ralphie has a proven track record of selling out multiple shows in 1,500 to 3,000 seat venues.  He has a no nonsense point of view and the ability to connect with a diverse audience by pointing out society’s hypocrisies.

On the small screen, Ralphie has worked as a writer and producer on ESPN's “Mohr Sports” starring Jay Mohr and performed stand-up on numerous late night talk shows including four appearances on CBS's “The Late Late Show w/ Craig Kilborn” as well as eleven appearances on “Jimmy Kimmel Live. On one of his recent appearances on “The Tonight Show w/ Jay Leno,” he received a standing ovation, the first comedian in 10 years to receive this honor.

Ralphie currently resides in Los Angeles with his beautiful wife Lahna, their two wonderful dogs, and their new baby girl, April June May, born on September 5, 2007.
